Truck Dispatcher
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the daily movement of freight and transportation operations. - Coordinate daily dispatching activities for freight movement, ensuring optimal routing and scheduling using transportation planning tools and GPS technology
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and clients via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times
- Monitor fleet operations through GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, load planning, and coordination with warehouse teams
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and incident reports to support operational transparency and accountability
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation management environments
- Familiarity with freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multiple calls efficiently on multi-line phone systems
- Strong analysis skills for evaluating routes, freight loads, and operational data to optimize performance
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must have high speed internet/laptop/cell phone
- Must have 2-3 years minimum experience
