Medical Coder - Remote or Hybrid Option
Description JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED MEDICAL CODER IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: BILLING OFFICE MANAGER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
- Ability to make logical decisions and solve problems
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding applications
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- *Medical Coding Certification*
• Good communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Strong ethical and moral character references
- Pass security check
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Communication
- Communicates effectively and professionally with patients,
visitors, physicians, and co-workers
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
- Conducts self as a positive role model and team member
- Respects patients’ rights to privacy, dignity and confidentiality
2. Duties
- * Verify accuracy of patient’s insurance company name/address
- Enter the following charges daily using appropriate CPT code and ICD-10 code: Office Charges, CIG Professional Charges, SCECWC Facility Charges, SCECNE Facility Charges, Anesthesia Charges, Pathology Charges, Hospital Charges and Lab Charges
- Append appropriate modifiers as indicated
- Run Daily Report for Balancing at end of day
