Quality Assurance Supervisor (Food Manufacturing)
Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee quality control processes at their facility in Des Moines, Iowa, US . This hybrid role involves both hands-on oversight in the production environment and administrative responsibilities that may offer some remote flexibility. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet stringent quality and safety standards, implementing and maintaining quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP), and leading a team of quality technicians. Your role is critical in upholding the company's reputation for producing safe, high-quality food products. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and train quality assurance technicians in daily operations. Implement and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP programs. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Oversee laboratory testing procedures and interpret results. Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints, and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs). Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, test results, and inspections. Collaborate with production, R&D, and sanitation teams to resolve quality issues. Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and industry standards. Manage product hold and release processes. Develop and update quality control procedures and documentation. Participate in internal and external audits. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for quality systems. Prepare reports on quality performance metrics for management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food safety principles, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in food manufacturing quality assurance is essential. This role requires a dedicated individual committed to upholding the highest standards of product quality and safety. While a significant portion of the role requires presence at the Des Moines, Iowa, US facility for direct supervision and hands-on quality checks, certain data analysis and reporting tasks may be performed remotely, offering a balanced hybrid work experience.
