Experienced Crisis Support Specialist – Remote Chat/Text Crisis Intervention (3rd Shift)

Job Summary
As a Crisis Support Specialist, you'll handle incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. Your expertise and empathy will help ensure the safety and well-being of those in crisis, and you'll be supported by our team of professionals who share your passion for delivering exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis
- Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Connect individuals with community resources and services to support their mental health needs
- Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings to ensure best practices and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with other crisis support specialists and mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist)
- 6 months to 1 year of related crisis experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and maintain confidentiality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in crisis intervention and risk assessment techniques
- Familiarity with mental health resources and services
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- 2+ years of related crisis experience
- Certification in crisis intervention, such as QPR or ASIST
- Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals and individuals with disabilities
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
