Key Responsibilities

As a freight agent/dispatcher, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Handling all incoming calls from drivers and customers, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Making outbound cold calls to new potential customers, leveraging your sales skills to build relationships and drive business growth
  • Monitoring electronic messages for the fleet, responding promptly to driver requests and inquiries, and ensuring seamless communication
  • Managing O.S.&D issues as they occur, addressing accidents as they happen, and completing computer work for loaded calls, empty calls, relays, and other tasks
  • Collaborating with our team to ensure efficient load management, dispatching, and monitoring of freight to its final destination

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 1+ years of experience in B2B telemarketing or inside sales, with a proven track record of success
  • Previous cold calling experience, with a strong ability to build relationships and drive sales growth
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, drivers, and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in PC use, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and explore alternative solutions
  • Self-directing with minimal supervision, with a high level of autonomy and motivation

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will be highly valued:

  • A book of business or existing customer relationships in the transportation industry
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry, including regulations, best practices, and industry trends
  • Certification in sales, customer service, or a related field
