This is a fully remote position, allowing you to conduct thorough investigations from your home office. You will be responsible for meticulously examining aviation incidents and accidents to determine their causes, identify contributing factors, and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of aviation principles, accident investigation methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and reporting skills are paramount. You will work independently, manage your caseload, and collaborate with various stakeholders in the aviation community. Responsibilities: Plan and conduct comprehensive investigations into aviation incidents and accidents, adhering to established protocols and regulations. Gather and analyze evidence, including witness statements, flight data recorders, cockpit voice recorders, aircraft wreckage, and maintenance records. Apply principles of human factors, aviation physiology, meteorology, and aircraft systems knowledge to the investigation process. Identify causal and contributing factors leading to the event. Formulate clear, concise, and actionable safety recommendations aimed at preventing recurrence. Prepare detailed investigation reports documenting findings, analyses, and recommendations. Liaise with regulatory bodies, air carriers, manufacturers, and other relevant parties throughout the investigation. Maintain accurate and secure records of all investigative activities. Stay abreast of advancements in aviation technology, safety management systems, and investigation techniques. Contribute to the continuous improvement of investigation methodologies and safety initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation safety, accident investigation, or a related technical field within the aviation industry. Thorough knowledge of NTSB or equivalent international accident investigation procedures and standards. Demonstrated understanding of aircraft systems, aerodynamics, meteorology, and human factors. Proven ability to conduct complex analyses, interpret technical data, and draw logical conclusions. Exceptional report writing and documentation skills. Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting. Proficiency in relevant software for data analysis and reporting.
