Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Temporary Customer Service Representative to join our team on a temporary full-time basis. As a key member of our Laboratory Billing Services Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and members through effective communication, education, and resolution of telephone inquiries. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Handling incoming calls to address issues related to member eligibility, plan prescription benefits, claim payment, and patient services needs
- Providing quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education
- Updating billing information, establishing payment plans, resolving payment inquiries, and patient scheduling
- Utilizing Epic EMR experience to navigate patient records and resolve issues efficiently
- Demonstrating data entry skills to accurately update patient information and resolve billing discrepancies
Key Responsibilities
* Handle incoming calls from patients and members to address issues related to: + Member eligibility + Plan prescription benefits + Claim payment + Patient services needs (e.g., updating billing information, establishing payment plans, resolving payment inquiries, or patient scheduling)
- Provide quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education
- Utilize Epic EMR experience to navigate patient records and resolve issues efficiently
- Demonstrate data entry skills to accurately update patient information and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and resolutions
Essential Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Two years of Customer Service experience (Required)
- Experience with medical insurance in a hospital or physician's office setting, specifically Laboratory preferred
- Experience registering patients preferred
- High Volume call center experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Data entry skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business, or communications)
- Experience working in a fast-paced call center environment
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software
