Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Patient Customer Service Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Answering patient calls regarding EOBs and researching balances
  • Managing patient refunds
  • Processing patient payments
  • Providing a positive customer service experience to patients, clients, and guests
  • Demonstrating extensive attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding performance metrics and quality standards

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in medical billing and collections
  • Current knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • A thorough understanding of EOBs and the ability to effectively communicate by phone and in writing with patients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation, multitasking, and a team player mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • Strong understanding of medical billing and reimbursement principles
  • Experience with medical billing software and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business administration)

  • Experience in a revenue cycle management or medical billing environment
  • Certification in medical billing or a related field (e.g., CPC, CMRS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with patient communication and customer service
