Freelance Animator – 2D Storytelling Project
This role involves creating an 8-10 minute 2D animation centered on a compelling narrative about a hitman whose advanced technology shortens his lifespan with each use. The project requires an animator with a strong sense of visual storytelling, capable of delivering a cartoon or anime-inspired style that brings emotional depth and dynamic action to the screen. The animation will be developed for a personal project, with a flexible delivery timeline of 6-8 months and the opportunity for ongoing collaboration. The work is fully remote, allowing for creative autonomy and schedule flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and animate a complete 8-10 minute 2D video based on a provided script and story outline
- Design engaging characters, backgrounds, and visual assets in a cartoon or anime-inspired style
- Collaborate on storyboarding, scene planning, and pacing to ensure narrative clarity and emotional impact
- Integrate sound, music, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and viewer engagement
- Manage project milestones and deliverables within the agreed timeline
- Communicate progress and incorporate feedback throughout the production process
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience in 2D animation, with a portfolio demonstrating narrative-driven projects
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, TVPaint, or similar)
- Strong character design, illustration, and visual storytelling skills
- Ability to work independently and manage long-term projects remotely
- Excellent communication and time management abilities
- Familiarity with anime or cartoon aesthetics and techniques
- Senior-level expertise in animation production
- Availability for a flexible, remote collaboration over 6-8 months
