As a Veterinary Technician and Rehabilitation Intern at arenaflex, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced rehabilitation team, assisting with the intake, care, and placement of native wildlife. Your responsibilities will include:- Assisting the rehabilitation team with intake, care, and placement of native wildlife
- Assisting the Vet Tech staff with daily veterinary care and record keeping of our animal residents
- Observing annual check-ups and necessary procedures performed by our vet
- Participating in public education spotlights
- Maintaining accurate records
- Complying with all arenaflex policies and procedures
- Performing other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications and Program Requirements
To be eligible for this internship program, you must meet the following requirements:- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be currently enrolled in a college or university or have graduated within the past 12 months
- Have completed at least 30 college credits with a 2.5 GPA or above
- Be available to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (2 of the 3 days) and Saturday (required)
- Be available to work 24 hours per week (360 total hours)
- Be available for 15 weeks starting either August 22 or August 29, 2025
- Be able to read, speak, and write English in order to successfully complete essential job functions
- Be willing and able to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Have a passion for working with animals and be serious about learning
- Successfully complete a background check, drug screen, and TB skin test

Physical Requirements
This position requires:- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently
- Standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and lifting/holding a majority of the time
Physical Environment
This position requires constant movement across zoo grounds for the majority of the workday and routine exposure to external elements, including heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid weather conditions.Application Requirements
