Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Property and Casualty or Personal Lines Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for providing outstanding support to our clients' members, handling inbound communication via phone, email, chat, social media, and other channels. This is a non-sales role, and you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by helping them navigate their insurance needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Field inbound communication from our clients' members regarding their insurance needs, including quotes, new business, rating, policy, billing, payment, underwriting, contract, and coverage provisions, and premium changes.
- Utilize knowledge of personal lines insurance to help members with their queries, providing accurate and timely resolutions.
- Conduct research and present customers with solutions, using resources and expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Understand members' life events that may offer sales cues, and correspond with customers, clients, insurance carriers, and internal sources to provide coverage information and policy recommendations.
- Execute various client service transactions, including policy endorsements, certificates, binders, cancellations, or other tasks, adhering to performance metrics and quality standards.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, articulation, and listening skills, ensuring that all interactions are conducted in a respectful and empathetic manner.
Essential Qualifications
* Active Resident Property and Casualty or Personal Lines License
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required
- 1 year of call center experience is required
- High School diploma or GED required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, articulate voice and listening skills
- Ability to maintain member privacy
- Internet & research skills, with the ability to research and quickly become an expert in a variety of subjects
- Computer savvy and able to resolve minor technical issues with minimal assistance
- Typing 25 words per minute with 90% accuracy
- Ability to critically think through situations and solutions
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, and at times, hectic environment while maintaining a professional attitude
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and adhere to assigned schedule with minimal assistance
- At ease with multi-tasking in several computer applications at once while holding a conversation with a customer
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in the insurance industry, particularly in property and casualty or personal lines
- Strong knowledge of insurance products and services
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other relevant tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
