Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our remote customer service team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing professional phone assistance to members, providers, and other stakeholders through our criteria-based prior authorization process. You will maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials, and transfer all clinical questions and judgment calls to our pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional phone assistance to members, providers, and other stakeholders through our criteria-based prior authorization process
- Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials
- Transfer all clinical questions and judgment calls to our pharmacists
- Respond to in-coming calls from members, providers, and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Utilize our electronic health record system to access patient information and update records as necessary
- Collaborate with our pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and care coordination
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements
Minimum Requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service position with high-volume call center experience; preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position
- Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred but not required at a State or National level
- Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other software applications
Preferred Qualifications
* 2+ years of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- Experience with prior authorization processes and electronic health record systems
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
