Job Summary: The Sector Manager - Heavy Industry South is a pivotal role dedicated to driving profitable sales growth and achieving sales targets within a defined sector. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales for Process Industries, EMEA depending on the assigned sector this position is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, analysing the market to identify and seize opportunities and inspiring a sales team to work collaboratively to achieve exceptional results. The role involves managing a P&L leveraging financial insights to maximise profitability and efficiency. It’s also imperative that the Sector Sales Lead uses every opportunity to enhance customer relationships at the senior level directly and through their team and ensuring alignment with organisational goals and values. Key Responsibilities: P&L Management: Manage the profit and loss for your business area, ensuring financial targets are achieved and resources are utilised efficiently. Collaborate with the Sector Lead to align budgetary decisions with regional goals, ensuring transparency and optimal resource allocation. Strategic Planning and Market Analysis: Collaborate with the Head of Sector (Process or LS) to formulate and implement sales strategies that align with overall sector goals and objectives. Conduct strategic market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, using these insights to fill the sales pipeline and explore new avenues for success. Customer Focus: Build a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics within the sector. Prioritise the customer in every decision, anticipating and meeting their needs. Cultivate robust, multi-faceted relationships within senior leadership within customer accounts, both personally and through your team, to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty. Sales Management: Lead and support your Team Leaders / Sales Managers, providing direction, and guidance to drive a high-performance culture and achieve exceptional results. Set clear performance objectives for your team, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals. Talent Development: Take responsibility for coaching and developing your team to not only meet performance targets but also to advance their careers within the Spirax Group. Leadership: Inspire your team by sharing a clear vision and purpose and engaging with colleagues in a genuine and authentic manner. Create an environment where people feel comfortable and motivated to perform at their best. Promote accountability and a growth mindset to drive both individual and team success. Team Inspiration: Cultivate an inclusive and collaborative team atmosphere, motivating Sales Team Leaders, Sales Engineers and Inside Sales representatives to work together to identify and maximise opportunities to grow the customer base and boost revenue. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse sales performance metrics using the systems available, providing regular reports and insights to the sector lead. Identify areas for improvement in sales performance and implement actionable solutions. Collaboration: Work closely with other sector managers and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive strategy execution and knowledge sharing. Process Efficiency: Adopt the systems and processes available to ensure organisational efficiency, and be a voice for change if a process is standard. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing tools or strategies to enhance sales effectiveness and team productivity. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts within the sales process, leveraging feedback and data to enhance performance and outcomes. Ensure your team is equipped with the skills and tools required to excel, supporting ongoing training and professional development. Health & Safety: Ensure the business provides a consistently safe working environment for all colleagues, drive health and safety improvements, and monitor EHS performance. Governance: Comply with all aspect of the Spirax Group policies and procedure. Skills/Experience: Previous P&L experience within a similar sized structure Proven experience in sales management within the Process Industries, ideally across Heavy Industrial, Waste Water, Mining or related. Experience working across Southern Europe & North Africa an asset. Strong leadership and team management skills; able to inspire, motivate and develop team leaders. Excellent strategic planning and execution capabilities. Customer focused with strong relationship building/stakeholder management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyse and interpret sales data to drive informed decisions. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainability principles.
