You will join a collaborative, cross‑functional team working in an agile environment, contributing end‑to‑end to modern data platforms and integration solutions across the Azure ecosystem. 📍 Job location: Portugal-based (Remote) 🕒 Contract type: Contractor 🗓 Target start date: ASAP ⏰ Working hours: Full-time 💵 Compensation: Daily rate €250 – €350 Note: All applications (CVs) must be submitted in English. 💥 Your Impact In this role, you will: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend services on Azure Build and optimise data products and data platforms using modern lakehouse architectures Develop and maintain APIs and integrations to connect internal and external systems Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines and services Work with structured and unstructured data to support analytics and downstream systems Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team, taking shared ownership of deliverables Continuously improve solutions, standards, and team practices ⚡ What Makes This Role Challenging You will work on modern, large-scale data platforms in evolving environments You are expected to balance quality, scalability, and delivery speed You will collaborate across data, backend, and platform engineering domains You will contribute beyond isolated components, owning solutions end-to-end Autonomy increases with experience — so does responsibility 👤 What We’re Looking For Must-haves Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Strong experience with Python and object-oriented programming Solid experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., ADLS, ADF, Synapse, or similar services) Hands-on experience with Databricks (Notebooks, Delta Lake) Strong SQL skills for data processing and validation Experience building and maintaining APIs and backend services (REST, event-driven) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Fluency in English Must be based in Europe Nice-to-haves Experience with data modelling and data architecture Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalogue) Exposure to AI/ML data preparation or data-driven platforms Experience with JSON and API-based data ingestion Experience with Kubernetes / containerised environments is a plus Mindset & Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset Excellent communication and collaboration skills Eagerness to learn and work with new technologies Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment Working Environment Agile and collaborative teams with shared ownership Cross-functional setup combining data, backend, and platform engineering Strong focus on knowledge sharing and continuous improvement Opportunity to work on modern, scalable data and integration solutions 💰 How Our Salary Ranges Work At Keyrus, salary ranges reflect different levels of mastery and impact within the same role — not different job titles. Bottom of the range You meet the core requirements and will need ramp-up time and support. Middle of the range You are fully autonomous from Day 1 and deliver consistently. Top of the range You are a reference for the role, mentor others, and raise the bar for the team.
