An Advisor guides their advisee, who may be a Complainant or Respondent, attends proceedings, conducts cross examination during the virtual hearing, and meets with their advisee throughout the process, at the advisee’s discretion. It is common to interact with advisees that have experienced emotionally complicated situations and/or traumatic situations. A successful Advisor is knowledgeable in and adheres to the UNM Administrative Hearing Procedures and University Administrative Policies, practices a trauma informed approach, and exercises discretion and maintains the highest standards of confidentiality.
