Instructional Systems Designer
Instructional Systems Designer (Remote W2 Contract) We are seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer to support a long-term remote W2 contract within a fast-paced learning and development environment. The role focuses on designing and developing high-quality instructional materials across multiple formats while working closely with internal stakeholders to meet defined learning and design standards. Engagement Details Remote W2 contract Strong possibility of extension No security clearance or prior government experience required Fast onboarding encouraged due to urgent need Role Overview The ISD will collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, and update instructional content that supports training objectives. Work includes transforming complex or technical content into clear, engaging, and visually polished learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop instructional materials including ILT, VILT, eLearning (WBT), videos, and job aids Convert existing training content into updated, learner-friendly formats Apply strong technical writing and visual design principles to learning materials Work within established templates and style guidelines to ensure consistency and quality Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align deliverables with learning goals Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field Minimum 5+ years of instructional design experience Strong background in: Technical writing Course conversion and redevelopment Multimedia-based learning design Authoring tools and web-based training development Visual design for learning content Required Technical Skills Advanced Microsoft Word (styles, tables, templates, headers/footers, macros) Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint (slide masters, layouts, visual design, layering, macros) Microsoft Excel (data handling, formatting, filtering) Preferred Tools & Technologies Lectora Inspire Camtasia Adobe Connect Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator DHS Trusted Tester / Section 508 awareness Microsoft Teams This is a strong opportunity for an instructional designer who enjoys hands-on content development and working across varied training formats in a structured, collaborative environment.
