May consider residents of surrounding states (NM, OK, AR or LA). This position could include travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school. The 504 Facilitator coordinates, supports, and manages all aspects of 504 programming to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure they are implementing the 504 Plan recommendations for success of students; Oversee development and implementation of 504 Plans on attainment of academic standards defined by the state; Collaborate with students/learning coaches on implementation of 504 plans; Evaluate and review student progress on a regular basis and annually. Facilitate 504 meetings timely and according to applicable protocols. Facilitate the revision of the 504 Plan goals as necessary and maintain 504 files, ensuring they are compliant with local and state regulations. Input student data in appropriate systems and maintain other student records as needed in a compliant manner. Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, professional development (virtual and face-to-face) and school committees. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education or similar area of study AND Three (3) years of 504/IEP related work experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Certificates and Licenses: Valid Texas Teacher Certification OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of applicable sections of the state and federal education laws and other pertinent regulations Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills both in-person and electronically Customer service oriented Able to read data and determine what steps are needed to assist students academically and behaviorally, as a whole and on an individual basis Demonstrates the use of good judgment in decision-making. Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques; utilizes computer software associated with curriculum. Ability to travel 20% time for work including to support in-person testing, meetings, and professional development. Ability to clear required background check including obtain fingerprint clearance.
