About the role: We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong track record of solving complex technical problems and delivering high-quality software in large, evolving systems. This role focuses on deep technical execution and ownership, with responsibility for designing, building, and improving critical components and services. The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, thrives in complex environments, and consistently delivers clean, maintainable, and performant solutions Key Responsibilities: Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges with scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions. Design and Development: Design and develop high-quality PHP applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. System Ownership: Own features and services end-to-end, from design through delivery and production support. Unit Testing: Design and implement comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Legacy Code Refactoring: Lead efforts to analyze, refactor, and improve legacy systems. Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards. Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for systems, features, and implementation details. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to code, systems, and development practices Skills and qualifications (mandatory): 4+ years of professional experience in PHP development Strong proficiency in PHP and experience with modern PHP frameworks (preferably Laravel) Strong experience building and maintaining web applications and APIs Proven ability to solve complex technical problems independently Experience working with and improving legacy systems Strong understanding of unit testing principles and implementation Solid grasp of front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment Ability to work independently and drive work to completion Skills and qualifications (preferred): Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue preferred) Experience working in healthcare, SaaS, or regulated environments Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field EEO Disclaimer: SIGHTVIEW SOFTWARE LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
