Director, Compliance Program Enablement (Remote)

Work Flexibility: Remote Position Summary: The Director, Compliance Program Enablement is responsible for building and sustaining the operational backbone of Stryker’s global compliance program. This role ensures that compliance processes, systems, and resources are scalable, well‑governed, and fit for a growing and increasingly complex organization. The role partners closely with Compliance leadership, business stakeholders, and enabling functions to translate compliance strategy into practical, executable programs—including ownership of core platforms, annual program requirements, and day‑to‑day compliance operations. This position must multi-task in a fast-paced environment, influence and work effectively with senior leaders across the organization and maintain the highest level of discretion and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Governance Define and drive the global vision, roadmap, and governance framework for end‑to‑end Compliance program processes and enabling solutions. Partner with the Senior Director, Compliance leadership, and key stakeholders to align strategy with prioritized compliance risks and business objectives. Establish and maintain governance models across compliance processes and technologies, including decision‑making frameworks, change management, issue resolution, and escalation pathways. Lead global governance forums to align priorities, funding, and solution investments across regions and functions. Assess organizational capacity, resource needs, and operating model scalability to support evolving program demands. Champion the integration of Compliance objectives into enterprise strategies, ensuring process and technology decisions enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and ethical outcomes. Collaborate closely with corporate functions (Legal, HR, IT, Finance) and Compliance Officers to ensure alignment and integration across the ecosystem. Program Enablement and Operations Lead the design, implementation, and sustainment of core Compliance processes and platforms, including Conflicts of Interest, Fair Market Value, Knowledge and Content Management, Onboarding and Offboarding and other global program enablers. Own and operationalize annual Compliance program requirements (e.g., certifications, disclosures), ensuring efficient and consistent global execution. Oversee Compliance department budget, spend and procurement governance, ensuring strong financial discipline, transparency, and alignment with strategic priorities. Serve as a central integrator across Compliance functions, reducing fragmentation and enabling seamless execution between policy, training, monitoring, and operations. Program, Process, and Technology Ownership & Optimization Own and continuously enhance Compliance programs with direct business impact, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and structured mechanisms for feedback and improvement. Lead the development and optimization of scalable global compliance processes and technology solutions, partnering with IT and cross-functional stakeholders to drive simplification, transparency, and long-term sustainment. Partner with Compliance Officers and cross‑functional stakeholders (Legal, HR, Finance, IT, business leaders) to embed Compliance requirements into processes. Leverage data, analytics, and performance insights to measure effectiveness, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement. Lead change management, training, and communication strategies to enable adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working. Leadership & Partnership Lead and develop a global team of managers, process leads, and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Build strong, trusted partnerships with business units to align operational goals, compliance expectations, and technology enablement. Serve as a strategic advisor to Compliance and business leadership, connecting regulatory requirements to business value and outcomes. Promote a global mindset anchored in ethics, operational excellence, and disciplined execution. Act as an escalation point for complex Compliance or business challenges impacting program execution. Identify, select, and manage external vendors, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with program objectives. Education and Special Trainings: B.A. or B.S from accredited university required. Graduate Degree or additional professional accreditation preferred (e.g., MBA, MS, JD, CFE, CCEP) Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 12 years of work experience required Prior supervisory experience required Project Management experience with one or more methodologies/frameworks Experience managing transformation projects with ability to showcase understanding of technical requirements/scope Demonstrates expertise in applying external requirements to key activities and processes Demonstrates experience developing and leading large-scale, global initiatives Possesses excellent leadership and influencing skills Demonstrates high level of professionalism Able to initiate, embrace and support change in a dynamic and complex environment Oversees complex diverse work of significant impact to the organization Demonstrates advanced written and verbal communication and leadership skills Well-developed ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality Well-developed understanding of business financials and reporting and ability to effectively allocate resources for maximum impact Preferred: Demonstrates knowledge and clear understanding of the required elements of effective Compliance programs, AdvaMed and/or PhRMA Code and other relevant standards (e.g., DOJ Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs, Section 8B 2.1 of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines). Experience working under government agreements (e.g., CIA, DPA or other prosecution agreements) Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt certification or direct continuous improvement experience Experience within Healthcare Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Regulatory/Quality, or Operations function Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be able to: Exercise independent judgment with strong attention to detail. Analyze, understand and communicate complicated issues to leaders to ensure understanding. Develop solutions based on best practices and customer feedback. Effectively facilitate discussions with and deliver communications to large groups of people.
