Director of IT
Job Description: The Director of IT leads Evergreen’s core technology operations, including infrastructure, systems, data, AI, and security. This role is responsible for setting IT direction and making sure the company’s technology environment is secure, reliable, and able to support business needs as Evergreen grows. The Director also leads the team that builds, maintains, and improves these capabilities across the organization. The person in this role actively contributes to our culture of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and supported. SALARY $140,000+, depending on experience, in addition to bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. WHAT YOU’LL OWN IT execution & technical enablement — Execute and sustain Evergreen's IT roadmap by ensuring infrastructure, systems, and technical operations are positioned to deliver on strategic priorities. Enterprise architecture & data strategy — Set standards for systems, integrations, infrastructure, and data governance to ensure scalable and reliable solutions. AI & digital innovation strategy —Leverage AI, automation, workflow tools, and digital solutions to improve business performance. IT governance, policy & risk oversight — Ensure IT operations are compliant, secure, well-governed, and supported by clear policies, standards, and controls. Cybersecurity posture & risk management — Define and oversee Evergreen’s cybersecurity strategy, risk mitigation priorities, and incident readiness approach. People Leadership — Own team performance by setting direction, aligning priorities, developing talent, and driving accountability through clear expectations and communication. WHAT YOU’LL DO People Management Set clear direction and ensure alignment on goals and priorities. Maintain alignment through consistent communication and obstacle removal. Establish expectations and drive accountability for performance and results. Foster a culture of care through trust, empathy, recognition, and support. Coach and develop team members through goal-setting and actionable feedback. Manage team capacity and reinforce alignment with Evergreen’s values. IT Leadership & Planning Maintain and execute Evergreen's IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with company strategy, business priorities, and growth needs. Participate in quarterly IT planning and prioritization. Advise leadership on technology opportunities, risks, constraints, and tradeoffs while prioritizing IT initiatives based on impact, urgency, risk, and operational readiness. Enterprise Architecture, Systems & Data Alignment Establish architecture principles that guide system selection, integration, data flow, and platform governance. Partner with leaders to ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable. Guide system lifecycle planning, including modernization, consolidation, replacement, and retirement decisions. Promote standardization, documentation, and governance across Evergreen’s technology environment. Digital Innovation & Continuous Improvement Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI, automation, workflow tools, and digital solutions to improve business performance. Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value use cases and prioritize implementation based on impact and feasibility. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and responsible technology adoption while balancing appropriate security, governance, adoption, and change management considerations. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management Define and maintain IT policies, standards, controls, operating procedures, governance, and risk management practices. Support security, privacy, compliance, audit, and client due diligence as needed. Ensure IT decisions meet Evergreen’s security, compliance, and operational standards. Cybersecurity & Incident Readiness Provide leadership oversight for cybersecurity strategy, security posture management, and incident response readiness. Partner with cybersecurity resources to ensure risks are identified, escalated, and remediated appropriately. Ensure security policies, awareness efforts, access practices, and controls support Evergreen’s risk profile. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Proficiency in leading technology teams across core enterprise systems, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data platforms, and IT governance practices. Aptitude for learning and applying AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to change and supporting company growth and scaling efforts. Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a growing, fast-paced organization. Ability to manage priorities, deliver high-quality work with attention to detail, and continuously improve processes. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Qualifications 8+ years of progressive IT leadership, enterprise technology, systems, cybersecurity, or digital operations experience. Experience in professional services, staffing, healthcare, consulting, or similarly regulated environments. Experience leading IT strategy, digital transformation, enterprise systems, governance, automation, AI enablement, and cloud initiatives from strategy through execution. Experience developing and executing IT strategy, roadmaps, governance practices, and technology operating models. Experience managing Microsoft-based environments, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, Teams, and Copilot readiness. Experience with enterprise architecture, data governance, BI platforms, automation, AI enablement, or digital transformation initiatives. Experience with cybersecurity frameworks such as HITRUST, NIST CSF, or similar. Proven ability to manage IT operations, risk, compliance, vendors, budgets, and cross-functional technology initiatives.
