Senior Accountant (Remote)
Senior Accountant Needed Are you an experienced accounting professional with a background in the payments industry? Celero Commerce is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting team in a remote role. This position offers the opportunity to lead critical financial processes, collaborate across departments, and mentor others while making a meaningful impact on the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate month-end close activities to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare complex journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Manage multi-entity consolidations, allocations, and eliminations.
- Maintain the fixed asset schedule, including capitalization, depreciation, and tracking.
- Support external audits with schedules, documentation, and responses.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
- Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering team growth and knowledge-sharing.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
Experience & Requirements:
- Remote position
- Payments Industry experience required
- 3-5+ years of experience in a similar position
- Proven experience leading month-end close processes and preparing journal entries.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience with NetSuite (or similar accounting systems).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communicator who collaborates well across teams.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to problem-solve and drive improvements.
