Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative working from home, you will:

  • Review existing customer accounts to ensure we're caring for all their needs and maintaining the accuracy of their account services and information
  • Maintain acceptable production levels as set by management
  • Provide details on discount services to help retain and save customers
  • Conduct standard verification and authentication for customer account integrity
  • Provide high-level customer service and empathy
  • Ask probing questions to discover the wants, interests, and needs of our customers
  • Validate policy and customer information
  • Check the status of claims
  • Deliver bad news and de-escalate critical situations
  • Be efficient in navigating multiple systems
  • Participate in ongoing training and self-development
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of procedures, product information, and online resource tools
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality as scheduled and adhere to all company time and attendance policies
  • Participate in activities designed to improve business performance
  • Ensure that all quality targets are met and maintained

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of solid customer service experience
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • The ability to effectively communicate with customers and ask discovery questions
  • A strong heart and mind for servicing others
  • Comfort with Outlook, asynchronous tools, and Microsoft Excel
  • The ability to be comfortable on a web camera
  • The ability to utilize tools and resources to efficiently serve customers
  • The ability to articulate in a business acumen manner
  • The ability to break down complex subject matter into relatable knowledge for customers
  • Flexibility with the hours of operation
  • Openness to feedback from leadership
  • Proactivity in self-upskilling and knowledge training
  • The ability to cross-reference job aids while assisting a customer

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Knowledge of industry-specific products or services
  • Experience with performance metrics and quality assurance
