Audiology Assistant/Technician (training provided) - Pittsburgh, PA
About the position Our exceptional, well-established audiology practice is seeking a full-time Hearing Aid Technician to join our patient-centered team. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting with a can-do attitude—ready to jump in wherever needed. You’ll regularly travel between our Monroeville, Penn Hills, and Harmarville offices and work a 5-day-a-week, 8-hour schedule (Monday–Friday). Our team is dedicated to superior patient care in a friendly, upbeat environment. We’re looking for someone who brings a smile, tackles obstacles cheerfully, stays organized, communicates clearly, and is comfortable with technology. You should be able to work independently and collaborate closely with others—all while showing genuine compassion for our patients. Reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities
- Clean, check, and perform minor in-office repairs; conduct otoscopy and listening checks.
- Deliver basic device counseling (daily wear/care, feedback/whistling tips); pair HAs to phones/apps/accessories; provide quick “how-to” guides (Apple/Android).
- Triage devices; complete in-warranty fixes or coordinate manufacturer repairs; for out-of-warranty items, invoice and ship to manufacturer.
- Check in new HAs and remove from sleep mode; update firmware; replace rechargeable batteries and record serial changes in Counsel Ear (CE).
- Stock domes, filters, batteries, specula, wipes, and other supplies in tech and provider rooms; clean equipment (UV filters/tubing/vac tips); keep booth cords organized.
- Send/track orders, repairs, and returns; maintain patient files and assist with clerical tasks; help Office Managers with inventory, light cleaning of waiting areas, shredding, stuffing envelopes, and preparing test-drive folders.
- Assemble superbills and ensure rooms are stocked.
- Proactively ask, “Can I help the provider and take a patient for them?” when appropriate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable learning clinical software (e.g., Counsel Ear).
- Comfort with smartphones/Bluetooth and basic technical troubleshooting.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a patient-facing setting.
- Reliable transportation for daily travel between Monroeville, Penn Hills, and Harmarville.
