Senior Procurement Specialist, Global Sourcing
Our client is a leading innovator in the technology sector, seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join their fully remote team. This position is integral to establishing and managing strategic global sourcing initiatives, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality goods and services at optimal costs. You will play a key role in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and supply chain risk mitigation, working from your home office. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of international procurement practices, and the ability to thrive in a virtual, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for key indirect and direct materials, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers worldwide, conducting thorough due diligence and risk assessments. Lead complex contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs). Manage and nurture relationships with a portfolio of strategic suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving performance improvements. Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supplier capabilities to inform procurement decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities. Develop and maintain comprehensive spend analysis reports and category strategies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Finance) to understand their needs and ensure alignment with procurement objectives. Oversee the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies. Monitor supplier performance against established KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary. Stay abreast of global trade regulations, tariffs, and geopolitical factors that may impact the supply chain. Support the development and implementation of procurement best practices and process improvements. Utilize procurement software and systems to manage sourcing activities, contracts, and supplier data. Facilitate remote team collaboration and communication through virtual channels. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a significant portion focused on global operations. Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and achieve substantial cost savings. Deep understanding of international sourcing practices, including logistics, customs, and trade compliance. Experience with e-procurement tools, P2P systems, and ERP platforms. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with international partners virtually. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships. Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. Must be authorized to work in the US.
