Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Remote Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional support to borrowers regarding federal student loan programs. Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Responding to incoming borrower calls, chats, and making outbound calls in a friendly and professional manner
  • Counseling and informing borrowers of their repayment options, deferments, and forbearance eligibility
  • Taking loan payments and updating borrower accounts in an efficient manner
  • Locating needed information and minimizing the time borrowers are put on hold
  • Maintaining the security and privacy of borrowers to protect both the borrower and our partners
  • Working an 8-hour shift with a one 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks
  • Utilizing strong computer skills to navigate our systems and software

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with some college or bachelor's degree preferred
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment cognitive and personality assessment
  • The ability to obtain a Federal 5C Security Clearance and credit check
  • Residency in or near the Dallas-Fort Worth area
  • Excellent organization, written, and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to multitask (type while talking)
  • Access to a home internet connection with at least 10 mg capacity and a router for an ethernet cord
  • A quiet and distraction-free workspace at home

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous customer service experience in a call center or similar environment
  • Familiarity with federal student loan programs and repayment options
  • Experience with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and software
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills

Skills and Competencies

To excel in this role, you'll need to possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Strong typing skills (at least 40 wpm)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
