Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Remote Data Entry Clerk Typist, you will be responsible for:

  • Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
  • Typing in data provided directly from customers with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, ensuring data integrity and consistency
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents, identifying and correcting errors
  • Updating existing data in a timely and efficient manner
  • Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested by team members or management
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation and prevent loss
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to maintain a clutter-free and efficient workspace

Requirements and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Fast typing skills, with a strong preference for knowledge of the touch typing system
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Office Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases and data management principles
  • Good command of English, both oral and written, with excellent customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in data entry or a related field, with a strong track record of accuracy and productivity
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with database management systems and data entry software
