Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield at arenaflex, you will be the first point of contact for our valued members, providing exceptional service and assistance with their insurance-related inquiries. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Handling incoming calls from Blue Cross Blue Shield members and healthcare providers in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Assisting members with inquiries related to insurance coverage, claims, and benefits, providing accurate and timely information about policies and procedures
  • Resolving member issues and concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating complex issues to senior representatives or management as needed
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure comprehensive and effective customer support, including working with claims, billing, and customer service teams
  • Maintaining accurate records of member interactions, including calls, emails, and correspondence
  • Participating in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on Blue Cross Blue Shield policies, procedures, and industry developments

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a call center environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with members, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate and use computer systems efficiently, including our customer relationship management (CRM) software and other tools
  • Knowledge of health insurance terminology and processes is a plus, but not required
