Job Summary

As a customer service agent, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to passengers, handling various tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Your primary duties will include:

  • Greeting and assisting customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner over the phone and in person
  • Announcing both incoming and outbound flights
  • Handling credit card and personal check transactions with accuracy and properly accounting for all collections and conducting airline close-out procedures
  • Accepting and processing checked baggage weighing up to 100 lbs. and placed on conveyor belts
  • Operating jetways to place them in position prior to aircraft arrival and lifting, opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors
  • Utilizing airline computer systems to provide flight arrival and departure information, ticketing and flight boarding documents, lost or damaged baggage documentation, and cargo tracking information
  • Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport
  • Working independently without direct supervision

Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service, responding to passenger inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy when handling transactions, including credit card and personal check processing
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of checked baggage, adhering to airline procedures and regulations
  • Operate jetways safely and efficiently, following airline protocols and guidelines
  • Utilize airline computer systems to provide accurate and up-to-date information to passengers
  • Escort unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the airport
  • Work independently, making decisions and taking actions without direct supervision

Requirements

* Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone
  • Possess entry-level computer skills
  • Occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds
  • Pass an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check required by federal law
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Essential Qualifications

* 1-2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions
  • Ability to lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds
  • Familiarity with airline computer systems and procedures
