Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – Remote Opportunity at arenaflex

As an Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in driving the growth of our ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, as well as our global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables, and to promote the ocean product. Your expertise will be essential in implementing and communicating strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network.

Key Responsibilities:

* Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product

• Work closely with the MD of Ocean to support carrier development, pricing, analysis of carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and support carrier service issues
• Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network
• Assist in implementing pricing programs and review volume targets
• Work with the TLM to develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement
• Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with the global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables
• Direct and indirect customer contact will also be required
• Work closely with product, sales, and operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to minimize company risk exposure and enhance service quality and achieve volume targets
• Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
• Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required
• Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product
• Support sales and operations as needed
• Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets
• Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

• At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing
• Prior ocean carrier experience a plus
• Familiar with Microsoft Office apps
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree or higher

• Experience in a leadership or management role
• Certification in logistics or a related field
• Fluency in multiple languages
