About the Role
As an Assistant General Manager, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of our U-Haul centers, ensuring that customers receive an exceptional first impression and the highest level of care. You will be responsible for managing and assigning team members, making key decisions to allocate time and resources, and participating in ongoing training and development programs through arenaflex University.
Key Responsibilities
- Run daily operations of the center in the absence of the General Manager - Make second-to-minute decisions to allocate time and resources to initiatives - Manage and assign team members to ensure customers receive an exceptional first impression and the highest level of care - Participate in ongoing training and development programs through arenaflex University - Perform miscellaneous duties, including installing hitches, brake controllers, and other equipment - Collaborate with team members to achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent - Driver's license and ability to hold a clean driving record - Management experience in any form - Customer service experience - Ability to work a variety of shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field - Previous experience in the moving and storage industry - Proven track record of leadership and team management - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
The work environment includes moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, such as running around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. You may be required to use protective gear, including masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical Demands
The work requires some physical exertion, including: - Long intervals of standing, walking, and moving around - Repositioning to reach and use tools - Lifting and moving equipment, up to 50 pounds - Working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
