Emergency Management Coordinator 1702

Develop and implement emergency management plans and procedures in collaboration with city officials and departments. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities within the city. Coordinate and collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to establish partnerships and enhance emergency response capabilities. Train and educate city staff, first responders, and community members on emergency preparedness and response protocols. Monitor and analyze potential threats, such as natural disasters, public health emergencies, and terrorism, and provide recommendations for mitigation and response strategies. Maintain and regularly update the city's emergency management plans, ensuring they align with state and federal guidelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for all emergency communications and notifications, including activating the emergency operations center when necessary. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans and identify areas for improvement. Manage and allocate resources during emergencies, including personnel, equipment, and supplies. Advise city officials on emergency management policies, procedures, and best practices. Stay informed on new developments and advancements in emergency management, and make recommendations for implementing relevant practices in the city. Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to ensure the needs of vulnerable populations are addressed in emergency preparedness and response plans. Complete necessary reports and documentation related to emergency management activities and expenditures. Serve as a liaison between the city and external agencies, providing updates and coordinating efforts during emergencies.
