The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing cutting-edge research projects focused on enhancing crop yields, improving plant resilience, and developing environmentally friendly farming practices. You will lead a team of researchers, manage project timelines, and interpret complex data to drive actionable insights. Expertise in plant physiology, genetics, soil science, and data analysis is essential. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and oversee research projects in plant science and sustainable agriculture. Investigate novel approaches for crop improvement, including breeding techniques, genetic modification, and agronomic practices. Analyze soil and plant samples to assess health, nutrient levels, and disease presence. Develop and test innovative methods for pest and disease management using biological and ecological approaches. Conduct field trials to evaluate new crop varieties and cultivation techniques under various environmental conditions. Manage and mentor a team of junior scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative research environment. Analyze and interpret complex datasets using statistical software and bioinformatics tools. Prepare detailed research reports, scientific publications, and presentations for stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including agronomists, geneticists, and engineers, to integrate findings into practical agricultural solutions. Stay current with the latest advancements in agricultural science, technology, and sustainability. Contribute to the strategic direction of the R&D department. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Plant Science, Agronomy, Botany, Genetics, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive research experience in agriculture or plant science. Proven experience in leading research teams and managing complex projects. Strong knowledge of plant physiology, molecular biology, genetics, and soil science. Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS) and data visualization tools. Experience with field trial design and data collection methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of scientific publications. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
