Feantsa is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement process. In this role, you will assist in the acquisition of goods and services to ensure that our organization operates efficiently and effectively in serving our mission to support the homeless population. Your primary responsibilities will involve processing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and tracking inventory levels. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and ensure that all procurement activities align with our budget and sustainability objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, has a strong attention to detail, and is passionate about contributing to a meaningful cause.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and related documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Support the development of procurement policies and procedures while ensuring adherence.
  • Participate in inventory audits and help maintain optimal stock levels.
