Mid-Level Software Engineer

Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone. Our client is a fintech SaaS company providing a purpose-built platform for consumer lending. Their technology enables lenders to manage the full loan lifecycle, from origination through servicing and collections, through a sophisticated white-label infrastructure designed for scalability and operational efficiency. Location Fully-Remote (Latin America) | 9 AM – 5 PM EST Role Overview The Mid-Level Software Engineer will take ownership of features from initial ticket through production deployment while working across a full-stack fintech platform. This role involves building borrower-facing workflows, payment-related functionality, and scalable API services while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering workflows and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Ownership & Development Own features from initial ticket through deployment, ensuring all acceptance criteria are met Build and maintain functionality related to payments, borrower workflows, and tenant configuration Work across the full stack to deliver reliable and scalable software solutions Database & API Management Write and optimize complex SQL queries using PostgreSQL 16 Build, maintain, and scale RESTful APIs within a multi-tenant SaaS architecture Ensure strong data integrity, system reliability, and application performance Cloud Infrastructure & Integrations Utilize AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda to support platform infrastructure Support third-party integrations such as Twilio and payment processing systems Help maintain scalable and reliable cloud-based services Agile Collaboration Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives Contribute to code quality through Git-based pull request reviews and technical documentation Collaborate closely with engineering team members in a fast-paced development environment AI-Assisted Engineering Incorporate AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Cursor into daily development workflows Leverage AI tools to improve development velocity while maintaining code quality and reliability

Qualifications

Experience 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience Strong experience working with PostgreSQL and writing complex SQL queries Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and SaaS applications Working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, RDS, and S3 Experience working within Git workflows and pull request review processes Experience in fintech, lending, or payments environments is a plus Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, or automated testing is preferred Skills Strong full-stack development and problem-solving capabilities Excellent understanding of API architecture and database optimization Strong written and verbal English communication skills Ability to work independently and manage feature ownership end-to-end Comfortable working in fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environments Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail around financial systems and sensitive data Enthusiastic about AI-assisted development workflows and emerging engineering tools What Success Looks Like Consistent delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-quality code within sprint cycles Strong contribution to the platform’s evolving payment and lending infrastructure Positive collaboration through thoughtful code reviews and engineering support Effective use of AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency without compromising quality Continued technical growth and ownership across the product lifecycle Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing fintech platform and contribute directly to the development of scalable lending technology.
