Essential Responsibilities and Duties Leadership & Team Management Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of removal paralegals, offering day-to-day guidance, support, and performance feedback. Foster professional development and growth of paralegals, promoting teamwork and cooperation. Monitor and report on team performance metrics; conduct regular evaluations and provide constructive coaching. Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new paralegal team members as needed. Assist Paralegal Manager in managing team metrics, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed consistently. Case & Legal Support Oversee the drafting, preparation, and filing of legal documents related to removal defense cases, including briefs, motions, and appeals. Collaborate with attorneys to formulate and execute legal strategies in removal proceedings. Conduct legal research and support case development using up-to-date immigration laws, policies, and case law. Stay current with changes in immigration law, especially as they relate to removal defense, and provide guidance to the team accordingly. Maintain accurate and organized digital case files and documentation for all client matters. Process & Performance Management Ensure timely case processing, compliance with court and agency deadlines, and adherence to internal quality standards. Serve as a project advisor by analyzing risks, preventing errors, and ensuring the successful implementation of new initiatives. Oversee performance processes, ensuring effective case and task handling while preventing delays. Identify and implement improvements in workflows, documentation, and resource usage to enhance operational efficiency. Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency and deliver value for both the firm and its clients. Client & Stakeholder Relations Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and stakeholders in both English and Spanish. Handle and resolve escalated client matters in coordination with attorneys or legal leadership.

Required Qualifications

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification from an accredited program. 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, including at least 1 years in removal defense. Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a legal team. In-depth understanding of immigration law and procedures related to removal defense. Strong organizational and case management skills, with the ability to prioritize under pressure. Proficiency Microsoft Office Suit and Google Tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex case coordination. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote work environment. High ethical standards and strong commitment to client confidentiality and legal integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing paralegal performance in a remote or hybrid legal setting. Background in training and development of legal support staff. Familiarity with EOIR court systems, USCIS procedures, and federal filing standards. Proficiency in legal case management systems (Litify) Technical Requirements Computer: Intel i5 (8th Gen+) or AMD Ryzen 5 (3000+), or Mac M1+. Min. 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD. OS: Windows 11 or macOS. Monitors: Two screens required. Headset: USB wired or wireless. Key Performance Indicators 1. Mail Out KPI — 30% Weight The Paralegal Manager will ensure the team completes at least 100% of assigned weekly and monthly mail-out goals by the end of each reporting period, as measured by the total number of completed mail outs versus the established target. Formula: (Number of Mail Outs Completed ÷ Monthly Goal) × 100 Target: ≥100% of weekly/monthly goal achieved 2. Error Rate KPI — 20% Weight The Paralegal Manager will maintain the team’s error/rejection rate below 5% each month by implementing quality control reviews, coaching, and process monitoring.
