Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The role will support the planning, design, development/configuration, and launch of efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business needs through interviewing stakeholders and gathering user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need. Gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, requests for proposal and systems requirements. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT system investments. The role will work with the program team and relevant stakeholders to identify, document, analyze and report data and information as needed for assigned projects, including: - Analyzing and modelling existing business processes - Analyzing and documenting business procedures - Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information - Presenting solutions to stakeholders and leaders ACCOUNTABILITIES: The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties. Business Analysis and Stakeholders Management:

  • Evaluate complex business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Provide analytic support for data collected.
  • Suggest new processes and techniques which will improve the efficiency or effectiveness of functions and teams.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements.
  • Conduct interviews/client meetings to gather user requirements via workshops, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside of IT.
  • Work with stakeholders and the project team to prioritize requirements.
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements and functional specifications to ensure that they are correctly interpreted.
  • Co-lead design sessions in collaboration with Business Process Engineers in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Report and present the results to stakeholders and leaders.

Integration and Testing:

  • Create complex systems models, specifications, and diagrams to assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicating these to the business stakeholders and Solution Architects.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Support the purchase and implementation of Cloud-based and/or vendor solutions through defining specifications, preparing Request for Proposal (RFP), solution evaluation and selection.
  • Work with the users, developers, IT staff and solution integrators to test solutions. Review and evaluate test results and ensure corrections are made and re-tested as appropriate.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems with proposed solutions, as required.
  • Research solutions through internal and external knowledgebase as needed.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes/templates and develop strategies for their enhancement.

  • Minor material responsibility (access to confidential information, proper use of software).
  • Minimal financial responsibilities (support the purchase of Cloud-based and/or vendor solutions through defining specifications).

  • Working environment is typically in the office with sitting for extended periods.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines: work provides pressure to complete on time and on task.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.

Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered. Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Commerce, or Business Administration/Management, Information Technology, or other related fields.
  • Practical knowledge of web-based solution development as well as system interfaces to vendor and/or Cloud-based solutions.
  • Six Sigma/Lean certification.
  • Communication ability in French is an asset.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • ten years of progressive experience providing project implementation and support for large Enterprise ERP implementations.
  • Proven experience in requirements analysis, system design proposals, cost/benefit analysis and testing in support of solution development.
  • Experience overseeing the development and/or implementation of web-based software and hardware solutions, on both functional and technical levels.
  • Technical knowledge of .Net and current programming languages,
  • Previous experience participating in digital transformation initiatives involving SaaS or PaaS systems
  • Solid understanding of relational database design techniques using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients, end-users and other IT professionals, specifically in building relationships and managing expectations.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Proven experience in defining, implementing and/or enhancing requirements gathering processes and templates.
  • Non-profit experience is an asset.

Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $90,729.60 to $113,422.40 with a maximum of $136,094.40.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
