Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our team and lead the development of our Home Terminal high-level examination foundation. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for driving information science initiatives that drive business productivity, efficiency, and customer experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities to leverage data science as a competitive advantage and develop innovative solutions to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* 30% Project Development and Improvement: Use your expertise to plan and develop calculations and models to drive business insights; Make informed decisions using cutting-edge analysis philosophies; Communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and business clients/partners; Effectively communicate the impact of recommendations to drive business strategy and execution
- 25% Project Management and Team Support: Lead and manage large and complex projects and teams; Provide guidance on prioritization of work and ensure quality of work; Provide training and mentorship to junior team members to enhance their technical capabilities; Collaborate with leaders and teams to deliver responsibilities and resources; Support selecting and recruiting efforts for the team; Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for one or more data science strategies, both predictive and prescriptive; Lead data science networks across multiple specialty units
- 20% Business Collaboration: Influence broad business insights into business strategy; Foster trust and collaboration with internal clients and cross-functional teams; Provide technical education on cutting-edge analysis to the data science community; Collaborate with IT to understand potential for new tools and ways to maintain technical expertise for data science; Effectively identify new business opportunities to leverage data science as a competitive advantage
- 25% Technical Research and Development: Stay up-to-date on key advancements within data science by attending conferences and publishing papers; Participate in the continuous improvement of data science and analysis by creating replicable solutions (e.g., packaged data products, project documentation, process flowcharts) to ensure solutions are used for future projects; Define best practices and develop a clear vision for data analysis and model productionalization; Responsibility for reusable calculations for future use, ensuring created code/models are archived; Develop expertise in one or more prescriptive modeling procedures, such as machine learning, computer vision, recommendation, search, or NLP

This position typically reports to a manager or above. This position has 0 direct reports and leads/oversees projects.
Travel Requirements
Occasionally requires travel under 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
Mostly spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is continuous opportunity to move about. Occasionally there may be a need to move or lift light objects.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any adverse conditions would be rare and not unexpected.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be eighteen years old or older. Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Demonstrated expertise in predictive modeling, data mining, and data analysis. Demonstrated expertise using statistical procedures to identify key insights that help solve business problems
