The Role
As a Technical Specialist - Datacom, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical support and guidance to our clients and internal teams. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of our telecom services, including video servers, programming, and hardware installations. You will work closely with our clients to identify and resolve technical issues, develop and implement solutions, and provide training and support to ensure seamless integration of our services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert-level technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video servers, programming, and hardware installations
- Develop and implement solutions to ensure the smooth operation of our telecom services
- Collaborate with clients to identify and prioritize technical requirements
- Provide training and support to ensure seamless integration of our services
- Work closely with our Resort Designing Group, FAM, OSI, and WDI teams to ensure alignment and coordination
- Manage and oversee the installation and maintenance of video and audio equipment
- Collaborate with other DPEP groups and service providers to deliver efficient technical solutions
- Oversee the refresh and reuse of equipment programs
- Conduct thorough investigations with field specialists to identify and resolve technical issues
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of services and equipment
Essential Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in the AV/Technology Industry
- 3+ years of network engineering and management experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP Workplace, and Service NOW
- Strong understanding of various video and audio merchant applications (Sonify, QSC, Crestron, IOT, Synamedia, Genetec, SevOne, Forward Organizations, Splunk, Zabbix, Infoblox, etc.)
- Strong understanding and experience in commercial video distribution support, sustainment, and execution
- Demonstrated ability to manage escalations and blackouts
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and industry best practices
- Knowledge of investigation and reporting tools like Scene, Power BI
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet designated deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn new software applications
- Ability to work on Saturdays or Sundays, as well as evenings, as required by client and business needs
- Self-motivated and driven
- Demonstrated ability to manage escalations and blackouts
- Moderate experience in network engineering and management
- Familiarity with intelligent and video systems and solutions
- Demonstrated success working with a range of partners
Preferred Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in the AV or technology Industry, experience with video distribution, encoding, audio mixes, and IOT devices
- 3+ years of network engineering and management experience
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Video Technology, Data Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analysis, or other related scientific or technical discipline
- Or, relevant certifications or comparable work experience
Certifications/Training
* Vendor-related certifications and training (QSC, Synamedia, Cisco, etc.)
