A Day in the Life
As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects that will challenge your skills and knowledge. Here are some of the key responsibilities of this role:
- Gather and discuss requirements from business partners across various verticals, including memberships, deals, return planned operations, finance, and product.
- Build new data ingestion pipelines using a combination of local AWS services and internal Amazon devices.
- Maintain and improve existing data ingestion pipelines to ensure they meet evolving business needs and adhere to advancing guidelines and corporate standards.
- Develop and maintain systems or tools for internal teams and external partners to manage data.
- Perform code reviews and ensure best practices are followed for ETL and data cleanliness by colleagues and supporting teams.
The Team
The Ring Data Warehouse team at arenaflex is responsible for managing the unified data repository for Ring. We acquire and distribute data from various internal and external sources, which are used by different partners, such as Ring product design, finance, production network, advertising, customer service, and deals data. We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and help us drive data-driven decision-making.
Essential Capabilities
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential capabilities:
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering
- Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL pipeline development
- Strong understanding of SQL and data querying
- Experience with AWS services, including Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Fire Hose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
Preferred Capabilities
While not required, the following preferred capabilities would be beneficial for this role:
- Experience with modern programming languages, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Experience with non-relational databases or data stores (object storage, file or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
