Experienced Data Center Technician – Cloud Infrastructure and Server Farm Operations

Job Responsibilities
As a Data Center Technician at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in the operation and maintenance of our data centers. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Equipment installation and configuration of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure
- Break/Fix substitution of FRUs (Field Replaceable Units)
- Rack installation, including placement, cabling, power-up, and handoff of servers to internal provisioning teams
- Investigating and resolving Telco Availability issues
- Investigating and replacing Organization Switch hardware
- Collaborating with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Documenting procedures and building/altering SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Organized cabling, naming, and testing of fiber/copper/telecom links
- Framework power supplies and cabling installation, repair, and maintenance
- Executing small projects independently and working with your supervisor to plan and execute larger local tasks
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Knowledge of server, storage, and network equipment
- A strong interest in learning new data center concepts and technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a shift plan (4 days per week, 10-hour shifts), including weekends and holidays
- 3+ years of experience working in an IT environment
- Experience troubleshooting issues on servers, networking devices, and IT hardware
- Stockroom experience, including ordering, receiving, and delivering server parts
- Experience handling on-call rotations and responding to critical incidents as needed
- IT Equipment Concepts knowledge (Attack, SAN, SCIS, Linux/Unix, GRUB)
- Familiarity with trunk framework is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
* 2-year or 4-year degree or 3+ years of experience
- 1+ year of experience in Organized Cabling Copper/Fiber, testing of links, Cooling and Electrical systems knowledge within the data center
