Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Customer Care Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. As a remote employee, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients, while working closely with our pharmacy team to resolve issues and answer inquiries. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your skills and experience in a pharmacy environment, while contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities
As a Customer Care Pharmacy Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Answering customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and transactions
- Checking to ensure that customer problems are resolved to their satisfaction
- Contacting customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of investigation results
- Meeting customer satisfaction targets and performance goals as set by your supervisor
- Handling medium to large call volumes on a consistent basis
- Responding to customers via phone or internet
- Handling authorizations and overrides for emergent fill medication for veterans as well as Marshal inmates
- Generating faxes and emails
- Updating requested doctors to POC lists
- Updating requested formulary changes
- Setting up and updating new clinic for the VA
- Assisting Account Managers with new pharmacy USM detainee RX program
- Medical claim questions
- Contacting jail facilities to get verification on inmates
- USMS support (eligibility, PA's, and record changes)
- Clarifying information on formulary for the VA
- Handling prior authorizations from VA Pharmacy and rejections from retail pharmacy
- Training of new staff
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications:
- Active TX Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required at hire
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- One to three years of related experience in a pharmacy environment or pharmacy customer service center
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a remote environment and maintain productivity
Preferred Skills
While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred:
- Bilingual (Spanish) language skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy services and Federal healthcare regulations
- Experience working with a team of colleagues with diverse work styles and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities and individuals
- Empathetic and friendly demeanor
- Strong time management and prioritization skills

Our work environment is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
