The Role

As a Machine Learning Data Associate (MLDA) - Specialist German, you'll play a critical role in driving German-to-English and English-to-German machine translation improvements. You'll work closely with our Machine Learning team to audit cross-language interactions on text-based channels, review and assess the quality of machine translations, and inform on the highest priority machine translation improvement opportunities that will enhance the customer experience. You'll also collaborate with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing and machine translations improvement processes, augmenting the customer experience through product testing, and executing the machine learning roadmap for the product.

Key Responsibilities

* Native-level translation and localization skills in German

  • Proficiency in testing and content reading in German, with the ability to document outcomes in English for stakeholders
  • Utilization of German skills to support internal and external customers and related products
  • Competence in navigating various internal tools to understand the customer journey
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and willingness to change priorities on short notice
  • Must be fluent in German and English

A Day in the Life

As a Machine Learning Data Associate (MLDA) - Specialist German, your day will be filled with exciting challenges and opportunities to make a real impact on our customers' experiences. Some of your key daily activities will include:

  • Localization/Translation: You'll work with our Machine Learning team to audit cross-language interactions on text-based channels and review the quality of machine translations.
  • Testing various workstreams: You'll test and evaluate the performance of our machine translation systems, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Contact Reading in native language while documenting findings in English: You'll read and analyze customer interactions in German, documenting your findings and insights in English for stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management: You'll work closely with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing and machine translations improvement processes.

Requirements

* Fluency in German and English (verbal and written communication)

  • 1+ years business experience in localization and translation
  • Strong attention to details
  • Exceptional communicational skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working in complex and frequently-changing environments
  • Ability to interpret customer need and being able to frame that as clear requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs
  • Experience working with machine learning, Artificial intelligence, natural language understanding data
