Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Fleet Analytics team at arenaflex. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex software systems that leverage tool information to drive business decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy data pipelines, data visualizations, and machine learning models that enable engineers to self-serve their data insights. Your expertise in data engineering, data analysis, and software development will be instrumental in shaping the future of arenaflex's products and services.
Responsibilities
* Work with stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain complex software systems that leverage tool information at arenaflex
- Provide guidance to arenaflex's data engineering and data science teams on best practices and emerging trends in data engineering and data science
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and deploy data pipelines, data visualizations, and machine learning models that enable self-service data insights
- Write reproducible data analysis code using modern open-source technologies such as Apache Spark, Jupyter notebooks, Pandas, Bokeh, Superset, and Airflow
- Summarize and communicate data analysis assumptions and results to stakeholders
- Design and implement metrics, packages, and equipment to enable engineers to self-serve their data insights
- Write clean, tested, and maintainable code that can be extended by other software engineers
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of arenaflex's data engineering and data science practices
Requirements
* 7+ years of software development experience in an associated field
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing engines like Apache Spark
- Experience with data technology equipment such as Pandas, Numpy, R, Matlab, Octave, Jupyter notebooks, Bokeh, Superset, and Airflow
- Experience building data pipelines, web applications, and devices learning models in a professional environment
- Strong foundation in statistics and data analysis
- Experience building data visualizations and writing software in a professional environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills to help refine problem statements and determine how to solve them with the available data and from first principles
- Smart but humble, with a bias for action
Nice to Have
* Strong proficiency in Scala
- Understanding of distributed computing, i.e., how HDFS, Spark, and Presto work
- Experience with devops tools - e.g., Linux, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience with complex hardware systems
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous development
