Job Description
This role leads strategic business development and sales efforts for commercial interiors, workplace, and enterprise furniture projects in the Seattle market and greater Pacific Northwest. The Senior Business Development Manager focuses on opening new doors, building influential relationships, and winning complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities while collaborating closely with internal teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.
Responsibilities
Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest. Develop and maintain influential relationships with end users, A&D firms, brokers, project managers, and other key influencers in the commercial real estate and workplace ecosystem. Identify, target, and convert strategic accounts, focusing on high-value enterprise and commercial interiors opportunities. Lead the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and close. Conduct proactive outreach and cold calling to generate new leads and expand market presence. Collaborate closely with internal design, account management, and leadership teams to create compelling solutions and deliver outstanding client experiences. Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to inform sales strategies and positioning. Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including Fortune 1000, broker, developer, and corporate clients. Use CRM and related tools to track opportunities, manage activities, and report on pipeline and sales performance. Represent the organization professionally in client meetings, presentations, and industry events. Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their business needs, workplace strategies, and furniture requirements. Support the development of furniture layouts and design discussions in coordination with internal design resources. Essential Skills Proven success in business development, enterprise sales, or commercial interiors/furniture sales. Demonstrated experience winning complex commercial interiors, workplace, or enterprise furniture projects. Existing relationships within Seattle’s commercial real estate, A&D, corporate, or workplace ecosystem. Strong account management and outside sales experience, including pipeline development and territory management. Proficiency in business development activities, including cold calling, lead generation, and relationship building. Comfort operating with autonomy in a performance-driven, sales-focused environment. Self-starter mindset with strong executive presence and high accountability. Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving brokers, developers, corporate clients, and end users. Customer service orientation with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience calling on Fortune 1000 clients, brokers, developers, and corporate stakeholders. Familiarity with commercial real estate and workplace strategy environments. Experience working with A&D firms, brokers, and project managers on commercial interiors and furniture projects. Knowledge of furniture layouts and furniture design concepts, including collaboration with design teams. Experience with Smartsheet for project or sales activity tracking. Experience with ProjectSpec5 or similar tools used in furniture or interiors projects. Ability to bring market intelligence and competitive insights to inform business strategy. Comfort working as a "road warrior" in a field-based, client-facing capacity. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.
Work Environment
This is a primarily remote, field-based sales role focused on the Seattle market and the greater Pacific Northwest. The position involves frequent travel to client sites, industry partners, and prospects, and is well suited to someone who thrives in a road warrior environment. The main office is located in downtown Seattle on a high floor with expansive city views, providing an inspiring setting for in-office meetings. While day-to-day work is remote, the role includes occasional visits to the main office for large all-hands meetings or key team sessions, particularly when leadership or colleagues are in town. The role uses tools such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Smartsheet, and ProjectSpec5 to manage sales activities, client information, and project details. Compensation includes a commission structure paid against a draw, along with a car allowance to support travel needs. The environment is performance-driven, autonomous, and highly collaborative, with close interaction between sales, design, account management, and leadership teams.
