What makes this role exciting The DataOps Team Lead is responsible for leading and scaling CloudPay’s DataOps capability, ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of data pipelines, platforms, and analytics services. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, platform operations, and analytics, enabling rapid, trustworthy data delivery across the business while maintaining strong governance and compliance. You will lead a team of DataOps engineers, define best practices, and partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Security, Product, and Infrastructure teams to support CloudPay’s global data estate. Main responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing DataOps team Set technical direction, priorities, and operating standards for DataOps Foster a culture of reliability, automation, ownership, and continuous improvement Support hiring, onboarding, and career development within the team Data Platform & Operations Own the operational health, performance, and availability of CloudPay’s data platforms Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident management for data pipelines Ensure SLAs, SLOs, and data freshness commitments are met Drive automation to reduce manual intervention and operational risk Data Pipeline Reliability & Quality Implement robust CI/CD processes for data pipelines and analytics assets Establish data quality checks, validation frameworks, and anomaly detection Partner with Data Engineering to improve pipeline resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency Manage schema evolution, dependency tracking, and lineage visibility Governance, Security & Compliance Ensure strong data access controls, auditability, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR) Support payroll- and payment-grade data accuracy and traceability Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams on policies and controls Promote best practices in data privacy, retention, and classification Cross‑Functional Collaboration Act as a bridge between Data Engineering, Analytics, Product, and Operations Enable self‑service analytics while protecting platform stability Influence roadmap decisions with operational insights and metrics Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience needed for this role Strong experience in DataOps, Data Engineering, or Platform Engineering Hands-on knowledge of modern data stacks (e.g. cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools, orchestration frameworks) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Preferred), Azure, or GCP) Proficiency in MySQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred) Experience implementing CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing for data systems Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and alerting tools Leadership & Ways of Working Proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams Strong problem-solving and operational mindset Experience working in Agile or DevOps-oriented environments Comfortable owning incidents, post-mortems, and continuous improvement actions What will give you the advantage Experience in SaaS, fintech, payroll, payments, or regulated environments Exposure to large-scale, high-volume, business-critical datasets Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles About you and Our core values Taking ownership, working with integrity and respect Being a team player is key to our culture Solution and customer focused Great initiative with the goal for excellence in achieving results Dedicated to developing and always looking for continuous improvements Be creative, be committed, be engaged and enjoy what you do We are hiring in Poland, Spain, or the Philippines, with local packages and Benefits to apply.
