The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges. We work closely with our customers’ engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud. We develop solutions side-by-side with our customers through collaborative innovation to solve their challenges. This work involves the development of broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform. We are hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager to help drive high-impact engineering projects with our customers and their partners, transforming their missions using AI and other cloud-based solutions and services. TPMs identify and define the relevant customer scenarios, orchestrate the engineering approach to address these, and develop the end-to-end user stories with internal and external stakeholders, fulfilling the Product Owner role. You will be part of a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, technical program managers, and designers who work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions. Responsibilities

You will provide expert guidance when working with Software Engineering, Data Scientists, Designers, and SMEs to design crucial technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks. You’ll define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for crucial cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate, ensure alignment, and gain buy-in across the business. You will deliver on the multi-year roadmap for multiple feature groups across divisions, lead tracking of project schedules, oversee development of staging and implementation plans, and oversee governance programs. You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing text cases from scratch. You’ll also provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, oversee customer support, and define, lead, and mentor others in direct customer engagements. Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience. 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. Additional or preferred qualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 15+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience. 10+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos). Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25% #ISEngineering #WSS Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
