NoteSight is seeking an experienced Chemistry tutor to support high school students in both Advanced Chemistry and AP Chemistry. You'll help students master one of the most conceptually demanding science courses offered at the high school level — covering everything from atomic structure and stoichiometry to thermodynamics and electrochemistry. This is a high-impact role for an educator who can make complex chemistry concepts click and help students build both confidence and results heading into exam season. - 1:1 Tutoring — Personalized sessions tailored to the individual student's pace, learning gaps, and exam timeline
- Group Tutoring — Small group sessions covering shared course content, problem-solving strategies, and exam prep
───────────────────────────── KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ─────────────────────────────
- Deliver 1:1 and small group online tutoring for Advanced Chemistry and AP Chemistry students
- Teach core AP Chemistry topics including atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, kinetics, thermodynamics, equilibrium, acids and bases, and electrochemistry
- Guide students through all AP exam components — multiple choice questions (MCQ) and free response questions (FRQ)
- Develop and administer practice MCQ sets to build student accuracy, pacing, and test-taking strategy
- Walk students through lab-based concepts and data analysis questions commonly featured on the AP exam
- Review and provide detailed feedback on free response answers using College Board scoring rubrics
- Customize sessions based on each student's learning gaps, target score, and time remaining before the exam
- Track student progress and communicate updates to parents or platform coordinators as needed
───────────────────────────── REQUIREMENTS ───────────────────────────── We need a tutor who knows AP and Advanced Chemistry inside and out — the concepts, the math, the lab reasoning, and the exam format. You should be equally comfortable working through a stoichiometry problem set as you are coaching a student through a complex FRQ.
- 3+ years of tutoring or teaching experience in AP Chemistry or Advanced Chemistry — required
- Deep familiarity with the AP Chemistry exam format: MCQ, FRQ, and lab-based questions
- Strong command of all major AP Chemistry units as outlined by the College Board course framework
- Experience with both 1:1 and group tutoring or classroom instruction
- Ability to break down complex chemical concepts and mathematical problem-solving in a clear, engaging way
- Comfortable working with high school students in a virtual, async-friendly environment
- Must be located in the United States or Canada
- Reliable internet connection and comfort with online tutoring platforms
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred; AP score of 4–5 or teaching credential a strong plus
Must be available consistently on a weekly basis.
