HV Electrical Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking experienced High Voltage Design Engineers to support large-scale EPC, utility, and substation infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for engineers with expertise in high voltage physical design, electrical design, and power systems engineering who are looking to contribute to complex and fast-paced energy projects. This position will support medium to large-scale HV substation projects through engineering design, system studies, procurement support, and field coordination.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed high voltage substation physical and electrical design
- Develop one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring drawings, cable schedules, grounding layouts, conduit plans, and installation details
- Conduct system studies including load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, protection studies, AC/DC loading calculations, and battery sizing
- Perform lightning, lighting, and bus calculations
- Develop equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Coordinate QA/QC reviews and support final engineering document sign-offs
- Support procurement and construction packages for EPC projects
- Collaborate with engineering managers, field teams, and project stakeholders
- Travel to project sites as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting HV substation, transmission, utility, or EPC projects
- Strong understanding of IEC and ANSI standards
- Experience with physical design engineering, electrical design engineering, or both
- PE license or ability to obtain preferred
- Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Combination of remote and field/project site support
