Remote Pharmacy Authorization Specialist ( Active CPhT, TCH Required)

Remote Pharmacy Authorization Specialist 13 week contract to start | M-F | 8:00am-5:00pm Great opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician looking to move out of the pharmacy and into a prior authorization/insurance coordination role.

Responsibilities

• Submit, track, and follow up on pharmacy prior authorizations
• Coordinate with insurers, PBMs, and specialty pharmacies
• Document approvals, denials, and appeals in the EMR
• Support appeals by gathering clinical documentation
• Educate patients on authorization status, coverage, and assistance programs
• Stay current on payer policies and formularies

Work Environment

• Remote - must be local to San Diego
• Ability to come onsite if WiFi issues occur
• Must provide own equipment and reliable internet

Required Skills & Qualifications

• CPhT required
• Active Pharmacy Technician License (TCH)
• 2+ years pharmacy technician experience
• 1+ year medication prior authorization experience
• Medical terminology proficiency
• EPIC (EMR) experience

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
