Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Paramus, NJ. As a Medical Data Entry Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient data, while providing exceptional administrative support to our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately transferring information into our database system using a keyboard, optical scanners, or other office equipment
  • Collecting information directly from customers and entering information into the database
  • Creating accurate spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel
  • Confirming accuracy of data by comparing to original documents
  • Creating reports or otherwise retrieving data from the database
  • Performing regular backups of data
  • Maintaining an organized filing system of original documents

Responsibilities

* Use a keyboard, optical scanners, or other office equipment to transfer information into the database system

  • Collect information directly from customers and enter information into the database
  • Create accurate spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel
  • Confirm accuracy of data by comparing to original documents
  • Create reports or otherwise retrieve data from the database
  • Perform regular backups of data
  • Maintain an organized filing system of original documents
  • Assist with data entry, data management, and data analysis tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely data entry and management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • Previous experience as a Data Entry Clerk or in a similar position is highly preferred
  • Typing speed of 45 words per minute with a high level of accuracy
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in database management and data analysis
  • Understanding of databases and data management principles
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment such as fax machines and printers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
